Tailored individual sessions in English or French to help you with :

  • Stress management

Life can be stressful and at times this stress can start having a significant impact on our physical and mental health. As a Sophrology therapist, I offer sessions where you can learn to manage the stress you might be feeling at home, at work or from many other external circumstances in your life. In these sessions gentle body movements, mindfulness exercises and positive visualisations will help you feel more focused, positive, confident and calm. You will also be able to use these personalised techniques outside of the sessions every time you feel stressed.

  • Anxiety

Anxiety can affect our emotional and physical wellbeing as well as our sleep quality and patterns. Whether you're experiencing general anxiety or anxiety related to a specific event in your life, Sophrology can help you detach from anxious thoughts, enhance your resilience and feel more confident and positive. Throughout the sessions you will learn independent techniques to recognise your anxious thoughts, reconnect to your body, ground yourself in the present moment and generally feel more positive.

  • Insomnia

If you have sleep problems, you might find that they affect your levels of energy and mental abilities during the day. You might also feel more stressed and notice an impact on your mood. Sophrology is very effective in addressing sleep problems by reducing stress, relaxing muscles, and promoting better sleep habits through techniques such as controlled breathing, progressive muscle relaxation, and positive imagery. It can enhance sleep quality and establish a soothing pre-sleep routine.

  • ADHD

The adult with ADHD is more anxious than average. A recent study has shown that adults with attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) are four times more prone to anxiety disorders than people without ADHD. Many symptoms of ADHD are common to other disorders (anxiety, depression, bipolarity, etc.), making the diagnosis even more challenging to establish. It may even go unnoticed during childhood and manifest later, inevitably affecting self-esteem and relationships with others.
The techniques used in sophrology sessions help anchor a better presence in oneself and enhance concentration abilities. Work on self-image and confidence can also be initiated, providing benefits to both children and adults. Finally, practicing breathing exercises and visualisation helps regain calmness and serenity. The practice of sophrology can thus contribute to alleviating certain challenging symptoms of ADHD.

  • Burn out

Preventing burnout through sophrology is possible. It offers simple techniques to become aware of how you are feeling and avoid burnout. It helps identify the source of your stress and the consequences on your body and nervous system. At the first signs of burnout, Sophrology can help you establish a preventive approach with tailored exercises, and take action quickly before the situation worsens. Sophrology can also have a curative purpose. In such cases, sessions aim to alleviate the negative effects of stress through appropriate exercises and provide tools for recovering from burnout.

What to expect during a session

During our sessions, I will invite you to close your eyes and listen to my voice as I guide you through a body scan, gentle body movements to help you reconnect with your body sensations, breathing techniques to invite calm into your body followed by a positive visualisation tailored to your needs. Sophrology is a very gentle technique with elements of mindfulness, dynamic relaxation and visualisations enabling you to explore your inner landscape, fostering self-awareness and promoting a sense of profound calm and balance.

You will learn the techniques that you will be able to re-use independently at home.
